“You know a real ‘Sabya’ bride is somebody who doesn’t need Sabyasachi the brand, at all. She probably buys from us because she likes the clothes. She’s very culturally and ecologically conscious, and she sets her own standards rather than following trends.


Bridal trends…

“There’s going to be a lot of pakka kaam which is traditional work that is coming back in fashion. The big colours this season are South-Indian magenta and very deep plum, berry and burgundy.”


Is it over for red?

“It’s never going to be over for red because a red lehenga is as iconic as a black wedding gown. Red and gold can ever go out of the Indian wedding palette because it’s so culturally entwined with the history of weddings in this country.”


Golden rules for the big day…

“A practical tip for brides is to hydrate yourself and drink lots of water. On the wedding day, don’t be a bridezilla because no one wants to be around an obnoxious bride. Also, remember that whether you’ve bought the most expensive lehenga, or the cheapest one, what’s going to set you apart and ahead of everybody else is a radiance which comes from being confident and feeling good about oneself. And whether you have a big waistline or a small waistline, confidence is not a size issue.”



Pitfall to avoid…

“When you wear a wedding lehenga, it is already heavy at the hips and you have to stand on your feet. So, while stilettos are beautiful, you’ll be more comfortable in platforms or wedges”.

How to take your beauty look from fall to winter My favorite beauty look to don during fall and winter is a red lip. While a deep red is probably my number one, I decided to have some fun and create a makeup look with a subtle golden eye and a playful light red lip. After applying foundation, some light contouring (do I really need to include this part? We all know how to contour, right?), and a tiny bit of blush, I broke into my new Au Naturale products to have some fun. First, I applied Lace powdered shadow all over. Then, I put a little Chai just on the bottom part of the lid. The last color I added was Tupelo. I started on the lashline and worked by way up. Finally, I added a little bit more Lace on the inner corner of each eye for an overall brightening effect.
